Cornelia Käsbohrer is a PhD student at Umeå University, where she is working on fairness in decision-making systems for healthcare. She wants to explore the intersection of causal inference, fairness-aware machine learning, and interpretability. Her work includes analyzing fairness in datasets and applying structural causal models to evaluate biases. Cornelia is also interested in combining statistical fairness metrics with human-inthe-loop methodologies. Particularly, she is curious about how visualization can enhance understanding and decision-making in AI systems. Prior to her PhD studies, Cornelia received a Master’s degree in Industrial Mathematics (University of Hamburg) focusing on Machine Learning and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Technical University Darmstadt).
