Joseph Lim is an Associate Professor in the Kim Jaechul School of Artificial Intelligence at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he leads research at the intersection of robotics and machine learning. Prior to joining KAIST, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California (USC). He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), advised by Professor Antonio Torralba. Following his doctoral studies, he conducted postdoctoral research with Professor William Freeman at MIT and with Professor Fei-Fei Li at Stanford University. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked in the Computer Vision Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Jitendra Malik. His research has been recognized with paper awards at the Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS) 2023 and the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2024.
