This project will focus on safety-critical intelligent machines, e.g. collaborative robots, rescue drones, or vehicles with advanced driver-assistance systems, with cloud-assisted AI and control systems. The project will advance the current state-of-the-art with both fundamental and applied research, where we specifically target cloud-assisted AI and control systems with safety-related control goals in addition to the ordinary control goals. Research in this area has a high potential for societal impact, since safety-critical intelligent machines are deployed in many application domains.
