Shayan Monadjemi is a Visual Analytics Research Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He conducts research on mixed-initiative systems that guide users in data exploration and discovery. Catering to domain experts, his research aims to make data-driven and AI-guided decision making more accessible by lowering the overhead technical skills necessary to utilize intelligent systems for domains including scientific discovery, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, and grid resilience. Prior to joining ORNL, Shayan Monadjemi pursued his PhD at Washington University in St. Louis under the supervision of Professors Alvitta Ottley and Roman Garnett.
