Dr Vlad Gonzalez-Zelaya is a Lecturer in Machine Learning and Data Science at Newcastle University, UK. His research interests are centred around Responsible AI, with a focus on algorithmic fairness and data privacy. He has developed several fairness-correcting methods for classification tasks based on data pre-processing, publishing his findings in journals such as ACM TKDD, and presented it at conferences such as ICDE, KDD, EDBT, and MDAI. Other research interests of him include responsible federated learning, fair resource allocation mechanisms, and combinatorial game theory.
