Tuomas Aura is a professor at the Department of Computer Science. Professor Aura’s research and teaching area is information security. His long-term interest is research in information security and user privacy, especially methods for designing secure and resilient network protocols and distributed systems. Recently, the focus has been on device configuration in ubiquitous and pervasive computing. Other key research topics are security of new network architectures and protocols, denial-of-service resistance and various forms of identity management. In the autumn semesters, much of his time goes to teaching. Professor Aura is motivated by the combination of research and engineering, and by working with smart students and colleagues.
