Principal Researcher
Ericsson (Sweden)
Mikael Hörberg received the Ph.D. degree from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2017, with research focused on low-phase-noise oscillator design. He joined Ericsson in 1995 and has since worked extensively with microwave hardware design, radio systems, and frequency generation technologies. He is currently a Principal Researcher at Ericsson, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Dr. Hörberg’s research interests include high-frequency transceiver architectures, frequency synthesis, and RF circuit design for millimeter-wave and sub-THz wireless communication systems. He has played a key role in the development of advanced radio technologies for beyond-5G and 6G systems, with particular emphasis on high-frequency front-end design, beamforming architectures, and ultra-wideband communication in the D-band and sub-THz spectrum.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Hörberg has contributed to numerous industrial research projects and international collaborations addressing next-generation wireless connectivity and high-capacity radio access. His work bridges practical hardware implementation and system-level innovation, supporting the realization of future sub-THz communication platforms for 6G and beyond.
