Professor
Chalmers University of Technology – Onsala Space Observatory (Sweden)
Vincent Desmaris received the M.Sc. degree in Material Science and Physics from the National Institute of Applied Science (Lyon, France) in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in microwave electronics from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden in 2006. Since 2006, he has been with Chalmers University of Technology, where he is currently Full Professor with the Department of Physics and Astronomyheading the group for Advanced Receiver Development and Onsala Space Observatory division.
Prof. Desmaris’ research interests span millimeter-wave and sub-THz electronics, with particular emphasis on high-frequency integrated and superconducting circuits, technologies, low-noise amplifiers, frequency multipliers, and receiver front-ends for remote sensing, and radio astronomy applications. He has contributed significantly to the development of ultra-low-noise and high-power circuits operating from microwave to sub-THz frequencies and has authored or coauthored numerous scientific publications in international journals and conferences.
Prof. Desmaris has been actively involved in several European and international research initiatives addressing next-generation wireless systems, terahertz electronics, and advanced semiconductortechnologies. His work has supported the advancement of high-frequency hardware platforms for beyond-5G and 6G systems, as well as scientific instrumentation operating in the millimeter-wave and terahertzspectrum. He has also served on technical program committees for leading IEEE and European microwave conferences and is recognized for his contributions to high-frequency circuit and device technology.
