Professor
Lund University (Sweden)
Fredrik Tufvesson received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree from Lund University, Lund, Sweden, in 1998 and 2004, respectively. Since 1998, he has been with Lund University, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Information Technology. He has also held visiting research positions at several international universities and research institutes and has been actively involved in numerous industrial and academic collaborations in wireless communications.
Prof. Tufvesson’s research interests span radio propagation, channel modeling, and wireless communication systems, with particular emphasis on massive MIMO, millimeter-wave and sub-THz propagation, distributed antenna systems, localization, and sensing for beyond-5G and 6G networks. He has contributed significantly to the understanding and characterization of wireless propagation channels through boththeoretical and measurement-based research and has authored or coauthored more than 200 scientific publications in international journals and conferences.
Prof. Tufvesson has played leading roles in several major European and international research initiatives addressing future wireless systems and radio channel characterization. He has served on the technicalprogram committees of numerous IEEE conferences and has contributed extensively to standardization-related channel modeling activities for advanced wireless systems. His work has supported the development of realistic propagation models and measurement methodologies for high-frequency communication systems, including millimeter-wave and sub-THz networks. He was elevated to IEEE Fellow for contributions to radio channel measurements and modeling for wireless communication systems.
