Tamer Başar is with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), currently as Swanlund Endowed Chair Emeritus, CAS Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Research Professor at the Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL) and the Information Trust Institute (ITI). He has served at UIUC as Director of the Center for Advanced Study (CAS), Interim Dean of Engineering, and Interim Director of the Beckman Institute. His research interests include stochastic teams, games, and networks; robust control; multi-agent systems and learning; data-driven distributed optimization; spread of information and epidemics; security and trust; energy systems; and cyber-physical systems. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, fellow of several societies, and recipient of several major awards. He also holds honorary titles from various universities in both Europe and Asia, including an honorary doctorate from KTH, Stockholm.
